Prince Moulay Hicham is the grandson of the late King Mohammed V, the father of the modern, independent nation of Morocco. Prince Moulay Hicham is the son of the late Prince Moulay Abdallah, Mohammed V’s younger son, the nephew of the late King Hassan II, and the cousin of Mohammed VI, the present King of Morocco.
Prince Moulay Hicham, 47, grew up in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. He pursued his undergraduate education at Princeton University, and his graduate studies at Stanford University.
As owner and Managing Director of Al Tayyar Energy, Prince Moulay Hicham has built an international renewable energy company especially well-known in the sphere of bio-energy. His first renewable energy investment launched A.T. Biopower, a renewable energy company that built and operates the largest rice husk fueled power plant in Thailand. His second major investment expanded Al Tayyar Energy into the production of biogas from agricultural wastes. This investment helped to create the largest biogas reactor in Thailand using a new technology that was dramatically successful; a technology that has now become the standard for biogas systems in Thailand and neighboring countries. He further expanded the Company’s bio-energy portfolio by becoming a major investor in Kyoto Fuels Corporation, which is building the largest biodiesel plant in Canada, and as the majority owner of Goes on Green Ltd, purchased the Rosendaal Biodiesel Plant; one of the largest biodiesel plants in the EU.
