Current Al Tayyar Energy equity investments range from $500,000 to $20,000,000. As our focus on environmental and societal benefits often directs our investments into emerging economies, we strive for an internal rate of return on equity of 25% or higher. Lower returns may be acceptable in countries where investment risk is lower.
ATE project partnerships generally take one of the following forms:
- Financial assistance for company development: ATE usually provides limited startup capital in the form of convertible loans.
- Debt Facilities: ATE may provide project companies with loans in conjunction with an equity investment.
- Direct project investment: ATE considers investment at the project level for those companies that do not require further investment capital at the parent company level.
- Ownership positions: ATE does not normally take a majority ownership position in companies in which we invest. However, in order to launch a new venture, we may temporarily accept a majority ownership position until additional investors join.
